1. To remove the skin of almonds easily, soak them in hot water for 15-20 minutes.
2. Putting 3-4 cloves in sugar container will keep the ants at bay
3. Apply some lemon juice on the cut surface of the apple to avoid browning. They will look fresh for a longer time.
4. To chop dry fruits, place them in fridge for half an hour before cutting. Taking the fruits out and cut them with a hot knife (dip it in hot water before cutting).
5 Do not beat idli batter too much, the air of which has been incorporated during fermentation will escape.
6. If you add half a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds to the lentil and rice mixture while soaking, dosas will be more crisp.
7. Don't store potatoes and onions together. Potatoes will rot quickly if stored with onions.
8. Tamarind is an excellent polish for brass and copper items. Rub a slab of wet tamarind with some salt sprinkled on it on the object to be polished.
9.Gargles with tamarind water is recommended for a sore throat.
10. Peel vegetables and fruits thinly as a major chunk of nutrients lie just beneath the skin. Peeling them thickly would result in a loss of these nutrients.
FOR KIDS
1.For diarrhoea (Babies) - Give 1 or 2 spoon of steamed & smashed apple
2.Don't add cow milk (that will lead to iron deficiency)into the semisolid food of babies,like KURUKU items ( Until 6 month old)..you can add coconut milk it contains loric acid that helps to improve babies intelligence..after breast milk, coconut milk only having loric acid.when adding coconut milk don't boil the food after that.add last when it is cooked.
3.For Breast feeding mothers have urid Dal (Soaked and make it paste add with fresh milk) ,will improve the quantity of breast milk.
FOR GENERAL
1.For splitting hair have healthy food and massage regularly with hot oil massage.
2.Green tea if good for heart but don't take it with sugar .and pure green tea is best more than the lime and mint flavored.
3.For cough drink 1 glass milk with 1 teaspoon turmeric powder.
4.For making good curd mix light heat milk with 1spoon curd (URA).less ura makes curd is more tasty and thick.
5.For Headache and cold- take turmeric powder on a small piece of cloth and roll it.light the tip of the roll,allow the flame to catch .then gently blow the flame out.then take the smoke through the nose..
6.When soaking the rice and Dal for idly and dosa, do soaking after washing the rice and Dal.we can use that water for grinding.it will improves softness and good for health also.
